In this day and age of 24 hour news networks and access to the internet from virtually every mobile devise, I am always surprised when people who clean the roads don't get more of a jump on it.  It's not like we don't know when a storm is coming days in advance or anything.

Maybe I am just being selfish wanting safe road conditions for all in the Capital Region, but for the last few years it seems like the people who plow are just not showing any sense of urgency when it comes to winter clean up.  I understand when side and secondary roads are still a little messy but when the main roads are still a wreck is when I wonder, who is in charge?  Why can't we get things cleaned up a little quicker?  I know I'm not the only one and if someone who plows the roads can give me a good excuse as to why things aren't done in a more quick fashion.

I know that things can get complicated with people heading into work and school, but most schools close so that gives you a head start.  I have to head in earlier than most people, hitting the road at around 4am every moring.  I understand things being a little messy at that point, but it's when things are still hellish for my ride home that gets me.  Plus then you leave it open for more chances of accidents and thats just no fun for anybody. There, I'm done with my rant.  To all you guys who plow, nothing against you but seriously, lets get things cleaned up.
