Rivers Casino in Schenectady Announces Opening Date

Officials have announced the opening date for the much anticipated new Rivers Casino in Schenectady.

According to The Daily Gazette, officials announced on Wednesday that the casino is set to open at noon on Feb. 8. Rivers Casino and Resort is a $330 million facility that will include 67 gaming rooms, a 15-table poker room, and 1,150 slot machines along with a banquet hall, entertainment lounge and spa. Plenty of food options will also be available on site. Most amenities with the exception of the spa will be open on Feb. 8. The spa should be open by late February and the adjacent hotel will be open this summer. The casino is expected to employ 1,110 people, and an additional 50 jobs at a later date for the hotel.
