Ringling Bros High Wire Accident Leaves Many Injured [VIDEO]

Nine performers with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus were critically injured Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, RI.

During the 'Hair Hang' act nine performers were hurt as the high wire cable snapped, sending all nine crashing to the floor.

In a statement released on Ringling Bros. website:

During the 11am performance of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents LEGENDS℠ on May 4, 2014 at Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, there was an accident during the hair hang act. All performers in the act received immediate medical attention and were transported to a local hospital for further care.

The remainder of performances scheduled for Sunday were cancelled with Ringling Bros. investigating the cause of the accident.
