At one point in time there was a restaurant on the New York state Plaza called 'The sign of The Tree' that once resided at the bottom of the Corning Tower. The space has not been used as restaurant space for quite some time. However, the space has since reopened once again as a restaurant spot now called the 'Cornerstone at the Plaza'.

According to All Over Albany the space which has been used for for events over the last year is now being run by Mazzone Hospitality who also runs the cafeteria and several of the restaurants in the concourse of the empire state Plaza. It will now be open to the public, at least during the legislative season, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. As well as for a special happy hour Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m.

The menu is deigned to highlight local eats:

Foods and beverages produced in New York State, including a locally-sourced selection of artisanal cheeses; a warm winter kale salad featuring chorizo from Dashing Star Farm; a vegetable torta made with local farm eggs; and beef short ribs braised in Nine Pin Cider.

If you would like to check out the full menu you can find it HERE. I'm always down to try some new spots to eat especially when it comes from food and beverages right here in New York state, even more specifically the Capital Region.

What do you think? Will you be trying out the new lunch spot anytime soon?
