Residents are Being Distracted, then Robbed in Capital Region

Areas of the Capital Region have been hit with distraction robberies.

It looks like Colonie has been the most recent area dealing with these, according to News 10 abc.  There's been three attempted in Colonie, and two of the victims turned the thieves away at the door. Other areas that have dealt with the distraction robberies are Bethlehem and Niskayuna.

There is a specific car that is in question that could possibly be attached to the thieves (you can see photos at News 10 abc).  It's a newer white SUV, with out of state plates.   It's being warned to be wary if people show up at your door, unsolicited.  Frankly, I'm always wary of people showing up at my door unsolicited. If a random person knocks, forget it. I've watched way too many scary movies for that.
