Dec. 8, 2014 marks the 10th anniversary of Pantera / Damageplan guitarist ‘Dimebag’ Darrell Abbott‘s tragic death. In remembrance of the guitar great, we’ve spoken to rock and metal’s greatest musicians to gather stories and testimonies of admiration towards the immortal shredder.

In the video above, Godsmack members Sully Erna, Robbie Merrill and Tony Rombola all share their memories of Dimebag. Erna states of the guitar great, "If anybody deserves to be a rock star, it was him." Erna goes on to reflect on not only Dimebag's playing, but also the type of man the guitarist was and the larger than life personality that Dimebag was.

Merrill, still clearly emotional about Dimebag's death, shares his feelings on his passing while Rombola offers one of his most cherished memories of jamming with Dimebag in a manner that most might not expect. You can check out what each Godsmack member had to say by watching the video above. And stay tuned for more Dimebag Darrell memories being posted between now and Dec. 8.
