Baseball and wine, not exactly the first two things I'd pair together, but I could get down with this.

David Ortiz has partnered up with a couple of local Capital Region families, Ianniello and DeCrescente, to launch a new line of wine named after his late mother.

David's mother, Angela Rosa Arias, died tragically in a car crash in 2002, but her name will live on in a series of tasty merlot, chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, and sauvignon blanc's. You will be able to taste these new collaborations at this year's Saratoga Wine and Food Festival which is coming up the weekend of September 8th and 9th at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center at Saratoga State Park.

According to the Times Union, David himself will be headlining a series of events at the festival on Saturday, September 8th where you could have the opportunity to meet the man himself, taste his delicious wine, check out his new cigar line, Big Papi David Ortiz Cigars, and help out the David Ortiz Children’s Fund all at the same time!

If you are interested in checking out the Saratoga Wine and Food Festival and want to learn more about how to meet David while you are there you can click HERE.
