Red Light King added to Buckcherry Show at Northern Lights
Q103 presents Buckcherry at Northern Lights on May 21st. The bad ass down and dirty rock n roll party just got better as Red Light King was added as another opening act along with already announced James Durbin.
Red Light King was created by master songwriter Mark Kasprzyk and likes to be known as ‘Kaz’. The band is a cross between rock and hip hop, the album is somewhat old school.
I’m all about mixing in the old sounds and giving it that warm, analog feel. There is sampling, hip hop grooves and beats, but I also wanted good old fashioned meat and potatoes: bass, guitar, drums.
‘Bullet in My Hand’ is the 2nd single off the album and is currently climbing the rock charts. The first single was called ‘Old Man’ that sampled a part of a Neil Young classic song.
My songs are written about real issues, real experiences. I like to bring listeners in deep, and give them time to look around.
Kaz grew up in a small town across the border in Canada near Lake Ontario. He was good enough to almost be a part of Canada’s Olympic Team in Judo. He won a Juno Award Nomination for Best New Artist.
