If you grew up in the 80s, 90s and even the 00s there's a great chance you watched 'Reading Rainbow' on PBS. The show taught many generations the joys of reading and the adventures it could take you on.

Sadly, the show ended in 2006 after a 33-year run but that all could change soon.

Host LeVar Burton recently launched a new Kickstarter to raise money for a relaunch of the classic show in a new digital form. The goal is to bring an unlimited library of books and video field trips to children everywhere. Through the Kickstarter program, Reading Rainbow would be available via web browsers and give school classrooms access as well. Watch the video below for more.

Within in the first 24 hours after launching the campaign, one million dollars was raised and Burton had a very emotional message to all those who donated.

At the time of this posting over $2.6 million had been raised with more funds being added by the minute. There are still 33 days left to the campaign and it shows no signs of stopping.
