When you stroll into the East Greenbush Walmart this weekend, don't be alarmed at the police officers crawling all over the roof.  There has not been major robbery nor is the store bulking up on security for Christmas shoppers- the police are hanging on the roof for a charitable cause.

Police officers are currently atop the roof of the Walmart in East Greenbush to raise money for the special Olympics of New York and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.  With a $10,000 goal, the officers will be on the roof raising funds from 8:00 AM Saturday morning until 8:00 PM on Sunday night.

The participating units are the East Greenbush police, Saratoga Springs, New York State and the National Guard are also asking for your help.  The store is located at 279 Troy Road in East Greenbush, just off of exit 8 on I90 if you're coming from Albany or exit 9 headed to Albany.
