Plans are in place for utilizing the site of the old Frontier Town theme park off the Northway in the Adirondacks.

According to the Times Union, the once popular amusement park off exit 29 in North Hudson, NY has been closed since 1998 and now Governor Andrew Cuomo is proposing a 32 million dollar effort into turning the 85 acre property into a visiting center called "Gateway to the Adirondacks", complete with campgrounds and equestrian trails. A nearby craft brewery is also planning to have a production facility on the site. Town Supervisor Ron Moore of North Hudson said that the heme park thrived for almost two decades and that "thousands came over the weekends." He also said that the plan is "everything that I could have hoped for and then some." He said that locals had been discussing ways to revitalize the site of the old western themed park for some time.
