Philip Anselmo just can’t stop making new music! For the Pantera legend’s first release of 2017, Anselmo has collaborated with modern horror master Bill Moseley for Songs of Darkness and Despair.

Moseley is best known by horror fanatics as Chop Top in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and Otis in Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. Songs of Darkness and Despair also features Superjoint guitarist Kevin Bond, King Parrot’s Squizzy Squires on bass and guitar, and José "Blue" Gonzalez (Superjoint / Warbeast / Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals) on percussion.

The sonic offering will feature six tracks of southern rock and sludge with both Bill and Phil contributing vocals. "Working with Mr. Moseley was an awesome experience! Bill brought the lyrics and Stephen [Berrigan] and I just improvised directly on the spot, and squeezed out six tunes in three days,” says Anselmo. “All the songs have a different vibe because I wanted the music to represent Bill's lyrical vision(s), and we needed to, because Bill does indeed have a unique, visual element within his choice of words and phrasing. I love Bill Moseley, and can't wait to work on the next one! Be cool and enjoy this one!"

Pre-orders for the inaugural Bill & Phil album include vinyl, CD and t-shirt options along with some funky options like a creepy Bill & Phil mask and ghoulish air freshener. The record comes out Jan. 20, 2017, so get excited for the first release from this horrorific duo.
