Formed in 1992 in San Diego, California P.O.D. (Payable on Death) has been classified as alternative metal, rap metal, Christian metal, and reggae. The current members are vocalist Sonny Sandoval, guitarist Marcos Curiel, Bassist Traa Daniels, and drummer Wuv Bernardo.

In 1994 they signed with Rescue records – a label that was created by Bernardo’s father, who also became their first manager. They recorded three albums and after the release of the third, a live album, they were offered a recording contract by Essential Records however they respectfully declined. It wasn’t until 1999 after they had signed with Atlantic Records that they experienced mainstream success with such songs as “Southtown”, “Rock the Party (Off the Hook)”, and “School of Hard Knocks”. All three were in the movie Little Nicky and the music videos for each received lots of air time on MTV2.

Total the band has released eight albums, and was nominated for the American Music Awards and Echo Awards in 2003, and the San Diego Music Awards in both 1999 and 2000. P.O.D. has sold over ten million albums worldwide.
