Ozzy Osbourne released his fourth solo studio album, The Ultimate Sin on this day 30 years ago (Feb. 22, 1986). The album's lineup featured Ozzy on vocals with guitarist Jake E. Lee, bassist Phil Soussan, and drummer Randy Castillo.

The Ultimate Sin  was Ozzy Osbourne's highest charting solo album at the time of it's release going platinum in May of 1986 and eventually double platinum in October of 1994. The album's was recorded in 1985 after Ozzy completed a stint at at Betty Ford Center for substance abuse issues. Bassist Bob Daisley and guitarist Jake E. Lee had been working on material for the album in Ozzy's absence. Issues included Jake E. Lee refusing to contribute to the album until he had a contract. This was due to Lee claiming that he was cheated out of royalties on 1983's Bark at the Moon. Daisley would leave the band prior to the recording session after an argument with Ozzy. Phil Soussan would become Daisley's replacement on the album. The Ultimate Sin was a commercial success featuring the single "Shot in the Dark".

Personally, I am a big fan of this classic 80's metal album and I suggest you crank it up today in honor of it's 30th anniversary!
