After last week's huge news from Trent Reznor that Nine Inch Nails were returning with a new album later this year, more big news today. The band will be releasing a new single 'Came Back Haunted' to radio on Thursday (June 6).

One of the lucky few to have heard the single already is Lisa Worden, who is the music director for L.A. radio station KROQ. She says it harks back to early Nine Inch Nails. “I think it’s in line with the first two albums. It’s got a great beat, it’s not the experimental material Trent’s done in the last five years.”

As far as the mood of the track, Worden says it isn't angry. “I wouldn’t say that it’s dance-y, but it does have a great beat, a groove. Trent really brought it with this song. It’s going to sound amazing to new fans and old. It’s just cool.”

Reznor announced a new Nine Inch Nails lineup earlier this year, which has already changed. Bassist Eric Avery recently announced his exit, and a couple of days later, it was announced that one-time Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck had returned to the band.

Nine Inch Nails have tour dates lined up all over the world this summer. Their next scheduled U.S. date will be at Lollapalooza on Aug. 2. The title and release date for the band's first new album since 2008's 'The Slip' have not yet been announced.
