Kokopellis nightclub in Troy has closed its doors after ringing in the New Year. Joseph Glick, the co-owner of the nightclub, has implied that the last couple of years in running the business have been troubling. The nightclub, which has been open for a little over three years, has allegedly seen State Liquor Authority finings, license issues and fights and arrests. However, Glick said in a statement to the Times Union this is not the reason for the closing of Kokopellis.

“Kokopellis is closing as a result of an incident that occurred in January of 2014 in which the Troy Police department brutally beat a patron for no reason, which caused some up roar from the community. Owners Barry and Joe Glick spoke out against the Troy Police Department for their actions and since that time, they felt they have been targeted and harassed…” - Statement from co-owner Joseph Glick,  TU

I don’t know which accusations are true. I have no clue if the police or the patrons are at fault in either situation. However, I have always said that nightclubs and bars should be completely made of NERF. That way, if someone has too much to drink or an incident does occur, nobody gets hurt.

You get hit in the head with a NERF bottle and fall down hitting your head off the NERF tables? No big deal, you just bounce right back up because it’s NERF… or nothing.
