FOX 23 GM Billy Sally said yesterday after being told by the NFL that Albany was not the "primary home market" for the NY Giants that he would fight all afternoon for the broadcast rights to tonights game.  His fighting paid off.

Late yesterday the NFL came back with a decision and will allow WXXA FOX 23 to air the Giants and Vikings game toight at 7pm.  Originally the NFL stated that only the direct home markets would be able to have access to the game but after an afternoon of appeals that decision was reversed.

The main issue was that ESPN has the rights to the Monday night game and th NFL doesn't want to lose the viewers for such a marquee match up between the Ravens and Texans, yuck.  It's good that they finally got their heads on straight and let the people of the Capital Region watch their beloved G-Men.  After all Albany is the summer home of the team,  so to say we aren't a "home market" is just ridiculous.
