Over the years, four medical marijuana bills have been sent to the state assembly, and each time, the bill has essentially been left to rot on the floor. Times are a changing, my friends! 

Tuesday night, the Senate Health Committee passed the Compassionate Care Act with a vote of 9-8.

What does this mean?

Once approved by the FDA, medical marijuana could finally be prescribed by doctors to patients with diseases like cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder.
