Looks like I may need to visit Cohoes a little more often.

You know when I was first looking to move to the Capital Region I was asking around trying to figure out which would be the best town to move into. A lot of people had mentioned that it seemed that towns like Troy and Cohoes had been going through gentrification process (the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle-class taste) and had really turned around over the last couple of years.

Ultimately I chose to move to Albany, honestly, mostly because it had more concert venues within walking distance than anywhere else. However, it looks like our little town of Cohoes is really coming along! For the second year in a row a study by the Center for Economic Growth has found that Cohoes is the fastest growing city in New York. According to News10 the city saw a more than two percent population growth in 2016.

Mayor Morse says that the growth progress continues and hopes to add more businesses, restaurants, and even apartments in the years to come.

What do you think? Are you impressed with what the city has become?
