As soon as I read this news i got excited.  New Rage Against the Machine? Yes please! The band has not come out with new material in a decade (2000's Renegades). Meanwhile the guys have been busy doing their own things.  Most of them joined with lead singer Chris Cornell in Audioslave, while Zach de la Rocha tried his luck at political hip hop.

The guys put differences aside in 2007 and reunited to play a few festivals but were in no hurry to get back into the studio.  Now that it's been a few years and things have slowed down for all of them they are in the studio and we should see new work out next year.

I still remember the first time I heard a Rage album and I was hooked.  It's political and controversial, but mix that in with some fat bass, kick as guitar riffs and some monster lyrics it becomes so much more.  The music gets me pumped and excited.  There are many Rage songs on my gym playlist so I can push through those last couple reps.

I mean this is a band that changed music and made it possible for bands like Korn, Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit to step out of the underground and go mainstream.  I was just talking to my friend JT about this the other day and he thinks that de la Rocha is the best front man onf the 90's, and it's hard to argue with that.  Dude has some energy, and not only says those lyrics, he means them.  I can't wait for this new rage to hit the market. Happy New Year indeed.
