Between his latest solo disc ‘Apocalyptic Love’ and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Guns N’ Roses, it’s been an eventful year for guitarist Slash, and a new photo book due out in October will continue to celebrate his career chronicling the last 20 years of the rockers life in photos.

‘Slash: An Intimate Portrait’ will feature two decades of previously unpublished photos of the guitar God taken by a legend in his own right, rock photographer Robert Knight. The variety of photos capture Slash in many different lights ranging from candid photos to funny shots, showing an intimate look at the man underneath the infamous top hat.

With a foreward written by Slash’s good friend Ronnie Wood, who also happens to play guitar in a little band called the Rolling Stones, and a preface penned by Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, the book should appeal to not only Slash fans but guitarists and rock enthusiasts alike. In addition to the all-star contributions, the rest of the book is written and rounded out by Richard Bienstock, the current senior editor of Guitar World magazine and executive editor of Guitar Aficionado magazine.

The photo book will coincide with an upcoming special edition release of ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ due out around the same time.
