Motionless in White Calling Upon Jonathan Davis Makes ‘Necessary Evil’ a Necessary Listen

Motionless in White have revealed yet another new song from their Graveyard Shift album, as "Necessary Evil" was issued just ahead of the album's release. The track is notable as it features a guest appearance from Korn frontman Jonathan Davis.

The Korn influence can definitely be felt, especially after a particularly crushing heavy low end comes in following the opening synth blasts. The track also mirrors a bit of the rhythmic delivery of Davis, even though it starts off with Chris Motionless on vocals.

There's also a nod to another classic track, albeit with Motionless in White's spin, as Motionless sings, "It's my party, and I'll die if I want to / Die if I want to" briefly bringing to mind Lesley Gore's 1963 hit single "It's My Party." Whether the track was initially meant for Davis or not, it's a perfect fit as the song would feel just at home in Korn's wheelhouse.

"Necessary Evil" is found on Motionless in White's Graveyard Shift album, which was just released yesterday (May 5). The song follows on the heels of the previously released tracks "Eternally Yours," the current single "Loud (F--k It)" and "Rats." The Graveyard Shift album is available at this location.
