Mothers Day Traditions

This Sunday is Mothers day.  A day to celebrate Mom, and each of us has our own tradition of doing so.

Whether it's a BBQ or a sit down dinner we all have something we do to celebrate Mothers day each year.  This year it looks like we will have some great weather for as well, so for those of you who are planning to head out to Albany's Tulip Fest are in for a great time.

In Major League Baseball they have a tradition of using pink equipment on Mothers day in support of breast cancer awareness.  I always thought this was a great thing for them to do, plus it's awesome to see a big tough athlete using a bright pink bat with matching pink batting gloves and wrist wraps.  A very cool thing that the MLB started that now other sports have embraced later in the year.

I know personally my own tradition is usually a Mothers Day cookout with my mom and grandmother.  This year we decided to switch it up a little bit and do a brunch instead.  Hey I am fine with that.  Breakfast food is always a crowd pleaser, plus who doesn't love bacon?  So we shall see how this year goes, but i have a feeling we will be back to the cookout next year.

So whatever your tradition happens to be, go out and enjoy it.  Remember that Sunday is all about Mom, so celebrate her accordingly.  You can give presents but when it comes right down to it, a mother really just wants to spend time with her family, so whatever you decide just make sure you are there.  Happy Mothers day to all of you moms!  Keep up the good work!
