Canadian guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist, and producer Aldo Nova gained fame in the early 80's when he was signed to Portrait Records, and released the self-titled debut album Aldo Nova and the song "Fantasy" in 1982. The album reached number 8 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold by the RIAA in May of 1982, platinum in 1989, and double platinum in 1994. Aldo Nova is a successful songwriter and producer. He co-wrote the Blue Oyster Cult song "Take Me Away". In, 1990, he wrote the main guitar riff that would be used in the Jon Bon Jovi song "Blaze of Glory". Bon Jovi returned the favor working with Nova on his 1991 album "Blood on the Bricks" which was released on Jon Bon Jovi's Jambco Records label. Nova also had success working with pop artist Celine Dion, in which he won a Grammy Award for album of the year in 1997 as producer. Cheers to Aldo Nova on his birthday today!
