Happy Birthday today Rivers Cuomo. The lead singer/guitarist for Weezer is 46. Also celebrating is original Heart guitarist Howard Leese (65).

Weezer formed out of Los Angeles, California in 1992. The band's current lineup features Rivers Cuomo on lead vocals and lead guitar, Patrick Wilson on drums, Brian Bell on guitar, and Scott Shriner on bass. The band has sold over 17 million records worldwide. They released their self-titled debut ( also known as The Blue Album) in 1993 after signing to Geffen Records. The album went triple platinum and received critical acclaim with singles and videos for "Buddy Holly", "Undone- The Sweater Song", and "Say it Ain't So". The band's second album Pinkerton followed in 1996. After going on hiatus, Weezer returned in 2001 with another self-titled album, also known as The Green Album and the singles "Hash Pipe" and "Island in the Sun". 2005's Make Believe would feature the band's biggest hit "Beverly Hills".
