Happy Birthday today (July 2) to original Bush bassist Dave Parsons. He’s 53.

Dave Parsons met up with with singer Gavin Rossdale and guitarist Nigel Pulsford in London back in 1992, they added drummer Robin Goodridge and formed Bush. The band’s debut album Sixteen Stone was a huge success selling 6 million copies with singles ‘Come Down’ and ‘Glycerine’ hitting number 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. A remastered version of the album was released in 2014 to mark it’s 20th anniversary. Other albums included Razorblade Suitcase, The Science of Things, and Golden State. Singles included “Swallowed”, “Greedy Fly”, "The Chemicals Between Us”, and “The People That We Love”.

I’ve been a Bush fan since the first album and caught them live once in New York in the late 1990’s. A great band that continues to rock today with a different lineup.  A new Bush album called Black and White Rainbows was released last year and the band is on tour this summer on the Revolution 3 Tour with Stone Temple Pilots and the Cult.  Cheers to Dave Parsons on his birthday!
