According to dailygazette.com, a free military band concert will happen in Saratoga County for the first time in 5 years.

The free concert honoring veterans is expected to draw around 5,000 on Monday, Sept. 5 (Labor Day) 2pm at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Supervisor Phil Barrett, chairmanfor the county Veterans Committee said that "it's one of those events the county does where if it doesn't happen, people ask." The county had previously offered free military concerts for years, but budget cuts forced the vounty to cut the $50,000 expense after the last show was held in 2011. The 2016 county budget included $35,000 to re-establish the concert, which will feature the Naval Northeast Band from Newport, Rhode Island.

The Naval Northeast Band will include a traditional ceremonial military band plus a soft-rock band called the Rhode Island Sound. Although the concert will be free, tickets will be distributed for the event. Ticket details will be announced soon.
