That didn't take long! Metallica struggled through a show last Friday in Copenhagen, Denmark with James Hetfield powering through a set even though his voice wasn't at full strength due to an ailment. Then, the band postponed their Sunday show to allow the singer time to recover, but Tuesday in Denmark the mighty Metallica were back at it.

Above you can see a variety of snippets from the show, starting with fan-shot footage of the intro to the performance at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen. In addition, you can see more fan-shot footage of the songs "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," "Now That We're Dead" and "Whiplash" below that not only shows Hetfield seemingly back to full voice, but back to being energetic as well.

During Friday's performance in Copenhagen, the ailing Hetfield asked the crowd if they wanted to shut down early and reschedule, knowing that the singer wasn't "sounding good." But the crowd showed their disappointment at the potential of a shortened or rescheduled show and the singer continued with the performance.

After the show, the doctors examined Hetfield again on Saturday and stated that his throat was not showing improvement and that he should not sing a single note while in his condition. So the band rescheduled their Sunday performance to Sept. 2. With Hetfield ailing, there was concern about the remaining stops in Copenhagen, but the band was back onstage Tuesday night and appeared to be back at full strength.

Metallica will fly back to the U.S. this week, with plans to play the Grammy Awards Sunday night followed by an after show at the Palladium in Los Angeles as part of the Citi Sound Vault program. See all of the band's upcoming dates here.
