Throughout the decades, we've lost countless rock and metal icons and Metal Allegiance ensured their legacy would not be forgotten with a star-studded 'Tribute to Fallen Heroes' at City National Grove in Anaheim, Calif. on Jan. 20. Among those honored was late Exodus frontman Paul Baloff, best known for his work on the band's brilliant Bonded by Blood debut.

In the video above, fans can watch an incredible tribute as Testament's Chuck Billy, Exodus / Slayer axeman Gary Holt and Winery Dogs' Billy Sheehan hopped onstage alongside Phil Demmel and Mike Portnoy. Together, the ripped through an absolutely savage cover of one of thrash's defining anthems, "Bonded by Blood."

Before tearing into the song, Holt quipped about posers and then instructed the crowd to raise their horns for Paul Baloff, "the immortal one, the f--king never-ending juggernaut, the crusher, the killer — smash everything, leave nothing unsmashed!"

Baloff passed away in 2002 at the age of 41. After suffering a stroke that left him in a coma, he died of heart failure while on life support. Loudwire streamed the entire event live and the introductory speech can be viewed below.
