Mechanicville Cemetery Vandals Brought To Justice

Some kids in the Mechanicville and Halfmoon area are in some trouble with the cops after it was discovered that they were messing around in a local cemetery.

Five kids ranging from ages to nine to 13 are in some big trouble.  Apparently they decided it would be a good idea to go into the Hudson View Cemetery and caused more than $100,000 in damage.  They knocked over headstones, and destroyed family plots, some of them dating back to the 19th century.

Some of the gravestones were so old that the inscriptions could not be read.  The cemetery itself is very old, and houses graves that date back to the Civil War and older.  Needless to say, these kids are in trouble.

According to the Times Union, the parents of the kids have been cooperative with the authorities, but some of the people affected by the damage are taking the damage personally.  Really?  It was kids being what kids are; stupid.
