May Concerts Heat Up Capital Region

If you are looking to rock out than May is the month for you because there are some big shows coming right here to the Albany area.

So yesterday me and Rob Dawes were going over all of the things going on during the month of May for us here at Q103 and we were kind of overwhelmed with the amount of shows that we have coming to area.  Not in a bad way, but in a kind of 'Holy S***' way.  There is no shortage of concerts coming up and it's the perfect way to kick off the summer.

Most of these shows are going to be right at Northern Lights in Clifton Park.   Easy to get to and one of my favorite venues to see a live show.  It's small, but not too small and sometimes you can even have a drink with one guys in the band at the bar.  It's a pretty cool thing.  And no worries about tickets because you can be sure that Q103 will have your tickets to each of these awesome shows.

The one that I am looking forward to the most is Alter Bridge on May 18.  I was always a big fan of Creed and love the way that Mark Tremonti plays guitar.  He is one of the best in rock right now.  Myles Kennedy also blows me away with his vocals.  He has such a powerful voice and really knows how to work a crowd.  I can't wait to watch them take the stage.  It was a hard choice choosing between Sully and Alter Bridge for the one I want to see the most, because Sully from Godsmack is also coming to the area on May 22.  He'll be performing songs off his solo album Avalon.   This show will be at the Egg and he'll be doing an acoustic show.  If you haven't seen a show at the Egg than this is a must go for you.  The atmosphere is a little more intimate, and there aren't that many seats available.  It is a very cool experience.

Also coming into the area this May is Paparoach and they'll be playing with friends of ours, Pop Evil.  Paparoach is very good live so you will for sure want to check them out.  Plus on top of Paparoach you also get Pop Evil who is always a good time.  Last time Pop Evil was here they had me doing Jager Bombs on their tour bus.  Can't wait to hang with them again. They'll be in town May 24.

Not done yet!  May 15 everything kicks off with Danzig at Northern Lights.  What can we say about him?  Legend?  Punk rock innovator? I think both sum up Glenn Danzig pretty well.  Also hitting the area is Seether on May 19.  You might as well just camp out in the Northern Lights parking lot after Alter bridge and go to Seether the next day.

So like I was saying, May is an awesome month for rock shows.  This is just the beginning too.  We have all the shows coming this summer.  Think of the May shows as a bit of spring training for whats to come!
