Mastodon Announce ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Appearance, Trio of In-Store Events
Mastodon are touring this spring, but they do have a handful of special appearances on the horizon, including a trip to the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage for their first late night appearance in support of the Emperor of Sand album.
The band just revealed that they will play the ABC late night staple on April 3, though it has yet to be revealed which songs they will be playing during their appearance. While in Hollywood, the band also has plans to play an in-store performance at Amoeba Records. It's one of three in-store appearances the band has planned surrounding the release of the new album.
The Amoeba Records in-store in Los Angeles will take place Tuesday, April 4 at 5PM. Fans can gain entry by purchasing Emperor of Sand at Amoeba beginning on March 31. By doing so, they'll receive a limited edition Mastodon / Amoeba lithograph and a pass to attend the performance while space is available.
As for the other two in-stores, the first is taking place in Austin, Texas this Friday (March 17) at 3:30PM at Waterloo Records. It is expected to be an autograph signing only. Those who pre-purchase the Emperor of Sand album at Waterloo will receive a limited edition lithograph that they can have signed by the band while space is available. Mastodon are in Austin this week to perform at SXSW.
The other in-store is part of the Record Store Day festivities, with the group doing a signing at Zia Records at 4225 S. Eastern Ave. in Las Vegas on April 22 at 4PM. Those who purchase Emperor of Sand at Zia beginning on March 31 will receive the limited edition lithograph and a pass to attend the signing while space is available.
If you're not in Austin, Hollywood or Las Vegas and want to pick up Mastodon's Emperor of Sand, it is available to pre-order in a variety of options at the band's website ahead of its March 31 street date. As for Mastodon's headline tour, the band is taking Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles on the road. The band will also appear at select festivals, so check here for all of their tour dates.
