Man Returns $80K To Albany County, Says Wife Stole It In Benefits

This guy either has some serious balls or serious morals. Either way both are questionable if you ask me.

So, the story goes like this...

A husband and wife are involved in some sort of domestic quarrel which escalated to the point that the wife tells her husband, of like 15 years, that she is going to report him to the authorities because he wasn't in the country legally.

After his wife stormed out of the house the husband then thought it would be a brilliant idea to get in some retaliation and go to the authorities himself only to turn his wife in. Apparently, in a closet somewhere in their house, his wife kept a bag of cash stashed. To the tune of $79,600. All in hundred dollar bills.

According to the husband his wife had collected the cash illegally from the state welfare department all while she was also working for a cleaning company. The wife is now saying that the money came from a house she sold somewhere in Mexico.

Everyone is baffled, and now both stories are now under examination.

I have sooooooooooooo many questions.

Why would you take that to authorities if you were in this country illegally knowing that you would then be putting yourself on their radar?

Why didn't you just take her cash and bail?

Why was all that cash just chillen' in the closet?

How long had the cash been just chillen' there?

Aren't you worried about be nailed as an accomplice because obviously that money has been accumulating for some time?

I mean those are just some of the first questions that come to mind but I'm sure I'll continue to have many more. Maybe at some point we we'll find out how this whole crazy situation plays out.
