Man Dies on Thruway In Late Night Accident

The southbound side of the Thruway at exit 24 was closed for hours Sunday night as police investigated a late accident leaving one man dead.

Details are minimal, but it appears as though a man was trying to cross the Thruway when he was hit by a tractor trailer and killed.

Police have not released the name of the man and are saying that there were no signs of a broken down vehicle in the area.

All southbound lanes have been reopened.
