So far it seems like the collaborative effort between Lou Reed and Metallica is falling on deaf ears, or almost no ears for that matter.

Well the numbers are in and so far Lulu is a big flop for Lou Reed and Metallica.  According to blabbermouth.net the album only sold 13,000 copies here in the US in it's first week of release.  Metallica's last album, Death Magnetic, sold almost half a million in it's first week so it has to be quite a big blow to the band.

The album came out to some pretty bad reviews, which both Lou Reed and Metallica have kind f either ignored or shrugged off.  Fans aren't to happy with the effort either, which explains the poor reception.  Lars Ulrich maintains his "It's not for everyone" mentality.  I think that's pretty obvious now.
