If you didn't know, Burnt Hills graduate Nick Delpopolo was vying for a bronze medal earlier today but sadly came up on the losing end.

No disrespect however as it's awesome to know someone in the Capital Region was in such a prime spot to even be competing for one. This was Nicks own tale of redemption of sorts after being knocked out of the London games 4 years ago for failing a drug test.

I'd say however he proved himself quite well in making it as far as he did. He had made it all the way to the quarterfinals of competition where he lost to Sagi Muki of Israel.

Delpopolo had lived in New Jersey until he was 12 and then moved up here to Glenville and attended Burnt Hills. He began training with Jason Morris who himself is a silver medalist in the 1992 Summer Games. Check out the Times Union article on Nick for a full recap.
