YouTube is at it again (note: it never really stopped). Yet another user has re-stylized a beloved piece of pop culture in some unfathomable way. YouTube user Arganalth has thrown together various computer bits and pieces -- please, don’t ask us to get more specific than that -- to play Nirvana’s iconic hit, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” from their 1991 breakthrough, Nevermind. Check it out above.

It’s an understandably blippy and choppy rendition but nevertheless instantly recognizable. Of course, nothing can replace the original, so take comfort in the fact that our computers can’t quite replicate or substitute every aspect of our culture yet.

The late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is the subject of the first-ever fully authorized documentary, Montage of Heck. The film will be released in theaters later this month, and then on HBO on May 4. Recently, director Brett Morgen revealed details about Cobain’s 1994 suicide note, saying the singer-guitarist “died of a broken heart.”

Cobain’s daughter with Courtney Love, Frances Bean -- who is also Montage of Heck’s executive producer -- also opened up about the making of the movie and her relationship to her famous parents. She even admitted that she’s not much of a Nirvana fan.
