Defying early predictions, Linkin Park's latest album has landed at the top of the Billboard charts according to the magazine. One More Light, which features a pop direction and came out May 19, moved 111,000 equivalent album units -- 100,000 of them traditional albums sales -- according to Nielsen Music. Early indicators last week had that number projected to be some 20,000 units less.

One More Light is Linkin Park's seventh studio album, all of which have been in the Top 10. The band's previous album, The Hunting Party, opened at No. 3, with similar numbers: 110,000 units sold in the first week. The band also landed in the Top 10 with two remix albums and a mash-up effort with Jay Z, 2004's Collision Course.

According to Billboard, the band now joins a modest number of rock acts that have had six albums or more land in the coveted No. 1 slot. The Beatles lead the pack with 19, The Rolling Stones have nine, Led Zeppelin and U2 check in at seven, and Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Eagles, Metallica and now Linkin Park have six.

Earlier this month, Linkin Park announced a North American tour to support One More Light, which kicks off in Boston, Mass. July 27. The trek will last into late October and feature Machine Gun Kelly as openers on most dates. All single full-priced tickets purchased for the tour will include a choice of a standard CD or standard digital copy of One More Light. Also, one dollar from every full priced ticket sold will benefit Linkin Park’s Music for Relief charitable organization. The dates for the tour are listed below.
