If you think it’s expensive to buy a car, wait until you hear how much one guy spent on license plates.

Vanity license plates reading “12THMAN,” in honor of Texas A&M’s crowd, have been sold for $115,000.

The man who won the plates at an online auction is Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee, who will receive them during the school’s hotly-anticipated game against Alabama this weekend.

Buzbee won’t be keeping them for himself, either. He plans to give the plates to a member of the military who graduated from Texas A&M.

Shockingly, this isn't even close to the most ever paid for license plates. That honor goes to a man in the United Arab Emirates, who reportedly ponied up $1 million in 2008 for a plate reading "1."
