Hitting the shelves on Monday, February 28th will be the brand new debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding, from a band called Beady Eye.

If you think the bad sounds a tad familiar, you're probably right.  Beady Eye is comprised of three core members of Oasis including lead singer, Liam Gallagher.  If you've ever wondered what happened to the bad boys of British rock when ol' Monte plays his favorite tune, Wonderwall, here on Q103 - no worries, Monte's got the scoop.

Oasis' debut Album, Definitely Maybe, hit the UK charts in September of '94 and became the fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK. Their follow up album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory? became the third best selling album in UK history and contained the first non UK single, Champagne Supernova, which hit number one on the US Modern Rock Chart in '96.  Oasis' third album, Be Here Now became the fastest selling album in UK history reaching over 696,000 copies sold in one week.  Of course, like most rock stars - the band had turmoil in the group and lived the life of rock stars.  Amid fights, drug use, airline banning  - yes, banned from an airline, the brothers Gallagher (Liam and Noel) managed four more albums despite going through three dummers, a bass player and guitar player during their tenure with the band. Finally, in August of '09, the brothers couldn't put their fights with one another aside and Noel quit the band for good.

Liam Gallagher put together his new band, Beady Eye, with former Oasis members Gem Archer and Andy Bell.  On Monday, I cannot wait to pick up the CD. I've already heard their single, The Roller, and gave the ol' foot a tap or two.  http://www.beadyeyemusic.com/ - the tune sounds good, right? 14 tracks on the new CD - it'll be like Oasis never left :)
