Led Zeppelin and Rage Against The Machine Mashed Up at Mountain Jam

Led Zeppelin and Rage Against the Machine might not have a lot in common from a musical perspective but up-and-coming act Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds are more than happy to help bridge that unlikely gap.

At the group's recent Mountain Jam performance, the band closed their set with a unique mash-up of the two artists. As the group played the music from Rage Against the Machine's 'Bulls On Parade,' dynamic vocalist Arleigh "Sister Sparrow" Kincheloe sang the lyrics to Zeppelin's iconic song 'Rock and Roll.'

And while we never might considered the two songs would have worked so well together, we are happy that they have proven us wrong. Formed in Brooklyn in 2008, Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds have released two albums and an EP since 2010, and won praise for their high-energy, horn-driven modern take on classic soul. The seven-piece band also features Kincheloe's brother, Jackson, on harmonica and cousin, Bram, on drums. Playing more than 150 shows a year, the group is currently on an extensive American tour that will keep them entertaining audiences through late August.
