According to timesunion.com,  Lake George is getting ready for 100,000 bikers at this year's Americade event.

Everyone is gearing up for the the annual biker pilgrimage to Lake George, including event media coordinator Ed Linville, who has been helping out with Americade for two decades. The rally started in 1982 and attracted 2,000 bikers that year. Linville said that the event brings in 44 million dollars (according to a Suny Plattsburgh study from 15 years ago).  Linville said, "We don't have- I'm gonna say- the hard partying aspect of bikes and bikers. We have a cross-section of professionals- doctors, lawyers- who have a hobby of riding bikes and want a week's vacation. They don't wanna come and drink, and do other things, I'll put it that way." he said.
