Korn recently took over the Hollywood Guitar Center to film an episode of 'Guitar Center Sessions,' but their association won't stop there. The band has just been named the latest act to be inducted into the Hollywood RockWalk.

The private, invite-only ceremony will take place Oct. 8 at the Hollywood Guitar Center location on Sunset Boulevard. It's no coincidence that Oct. 8 is the date of the ceremony, as the group will also released their latest album, 'The Paradigm Shift,' on the same day.

Frontman Jonathan Davis states, "When you look at the names of the other people inducted here all you can say is, 'Wow, what an honor!'" Guitarist Munky adds, "When we started out we were five guys in a garage with a dream. I'd like to think we tried our best to create some great music and an innovative sound, but to be honest we are truly humbled to be included here."

Guitar Center RockWalk Chairman Dave Weiderman added, "Korn is about as innovative and influential as they come. They have been purveyors of metal's progression since their formation and are even credited with creating the Nu Metal subgenre. For these reasons, and many more, Korn is exactly the type of band the RockWalk is here to honor."

Korn will take their place alongside such legendary acts as AC/DC, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Jane's Addiction and more on the Hollywood RockWalk on Oct. 8.
