KOЯN Releasing An “Essential Collection” Album
World-famous Rock/Metal quintet Korn are joining other Sony Music artists and are releasing their own essentials album, according to The Pulse of Radio. “The Essential Korn” will be released on May 10, 2011!
The new album is a little different than 2004’s Greatest Hits album. It features a two-disc, 29-song collection, and will include oldies and new hits. Some favorites that will be on the new album are: “Got the Life,” “Shoots and Ladders,” “Freak on a Leash,” “Falling Away from Me,” “Alone I Break,” and “Did my Time.” Also to be featured on the essentials album are more recent songs, such as “Oildale (Leave me Alone)” which is from the Korn III: Remember Who You Are album.
This will be the first album Korn will release through Sony Music since 2003’s Take a Look in the Mirror.
Guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer told The Pulse Of Radio that 17 years into its career, KORN still finds new fans by bringing its music all over the world. Last year we went to South America and we did some shows, and did some countries that — never played before,” he said. “Peru and Ecuador, I mean, great, great people — some of the best fans in the world. There was 300 people at the Lima, Peru airport. Man, there were police holding them back! We’re like, ‘What? Who is it? Oh, it’s us? They’re here for us?’ But seriously, like, you’ve got to go to them.- BLABBERMOUTH
Other than the essentials album, Korn is also working on their newest album, which may be coming out next spring. It will be the follow-up album to Korn III.
Korn will be performing at this year’s Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio on May 21, and will then be traveling to Europe for another string of tour dates.
