For those who are drumming fans in the rock scene, you may have heard of Luke Holland.  A young but well known DW drummer, he not just plays with his current band The Word Alive, but also has worked on a multitude of side projects, been highlighted with drumming at the Alt Press Music Awards, and has racked millions of views of his drum covers on YouTube.

Tonight, he concludes his last tour with The Word Alive, at the current tour's last show in the band's hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.  A huge fan of Luke myself, while I clearly can't be at the show (as I'm in New York), I'm going to be keeping tabs of the concert via video clips and checking out his last set with the band.  When the band first publicly announced his departure prior to this you, many fans expressed their sentiments of sadness (and by his 213 thousand Instagram fans, I'd say people love him), however he's got some exciting stuff in the works, and I can't wait to keep following Luke and see what the future brings!  Meanwhile, this Rock Girl is going to be spending her Sunday night glued to her phone and watching video clips of the show.

Unfortunatley, I wasn't able to make the Kings of Chaos show last night (as I had hoped I would), however I did hear rave reviews of the show, as well as got my hands on a photo of the set list.  Friends at the show had nothing but mind blowing reviews and video clips.  I wouldn't expect anything less from a supergroup including Chester Bennington [Linkin Park], Billy Duffy [The Cult], Matt Sorum [Guns N'Roses], Robert Deleo [Stone Temple Pilots], Steve Stevens [Billy Idol], Billy Gibbons [ZZ Top], and Robin Zander [Cheap Trick].  I've seen a bunch of these artists live with their other respective bands and they have all been phenomenal.  As for the set list, you can't go wrong at a concert that includes songs such as Vaseline, White Wedding, Sharp Dressed Man, Ace of Spades, and Sex Type Thing.  Turns were taken on vocals, and while artists covered some songs individually (Bennington sang certain songs, Gibbons others), they also performed some songs were vocals were done by multiple artists.

I'm really bummed I missed this one, but I have a personal motto- "There will always be another concert."  That's generally how I pad my disappointment of not being at a show, but also what keeps me motivated!  I'm looking forward to more concerts in the future, and all the new music that 2017 will bring!
