In this episode of ‘Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?,’ our guest is Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach.

Our signature series has been going strong lately, with segments featuring Slayer’s Tom Araya and Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine. We’re keeping the good stuff coming with Jesse Leach as he proves and disproves what’s written about him and Killswitch Engage on Wikipedia.

We traveled back to the beginning of Killswitch Engage during this interview and how Jesse was a “weird,” “antisocial” and “depressed” kid. He never wanted to socialize before or after KsE gigs, so much so that he doesn’t remember the details of Killswitch’s first show, which was a stacked bill featuring In Flames, Shadows Fall and possibly even Dark Tranquillity. Despite his self-professed weirdness, guitarist Adam D. would help Jesse out by giving him lifts from work to the studio during the Alive or Just Breathing sessions.

It’s true that Leach struggled to find confidence in the studio for Killswitch’s debut, but he corrects Wikipedia’s entry that he was determined to turn his vocal work into a “masterpiece.” Leach also speaks about blowing his voice out early on Killswitch’s first major tour.

As for Jesse Leach’s personal favorite vocal performance he’s ever recorded, he sets the record straight on that Wiki entry as well.
