The more I think about it, I'm a little frightened by the number of my friends who claim to be ready for the zombie apocalypse. Sure, it works out great for me, cause I'll have plenty of place to go if and when it happens, but what about everyone else?

Kansas is declaring October to be 'Zombie Preparedness Month', saying that if you're ready for the zombie apocalypse, you're also ready for 'tornadoes, severe storms, fire, and any other natural disaster Kansas usually faces'.

This actually sounds like a great idea. They're going to accept entries for emergency plans, and the top 5 will be highlighted on October 25th (Zombie Preparedness Day). It's not just states either, Northern Virginia Community College is having a one day event where zombies on campus will give out survival preparation tips. We have some colleges around here I'm told, let's make this happen locally.
