The 1950's diner-style restaurant Johnny Rockets is coming to Times Union Center in Albany.

According to timesunion.com, the Times Union Center will soon be a home to a Johnny Rockets, pending legislature approval. The restaurant would feature an expanded menu plus a full bar featuring craft beer. Louis Chicatelli, who runs the Johnny Rockets at Crossgates Mall would operate the new restaurant as well. It will occupy the space that was the former home of Wolf's 1-11. The plan is for the restaurant to be open 7 days a week and to remain open later when the venue has events scheduled. It's expected to bring in 25 -30 new jobs.  Times Union Center general manager Bob Belder said that the restaurant could be open by mid-late summer if it gets approval from the legislature and civic center committee.

The popular burger joint was founded in 1986 by Ron Teitelbaum of Los Angeles, California.
