Jessica Simpson–Smart Business Woman

Yes that is correct.  Say what you will about Jessica Simpson and her lack of common sense, but she is on the fast track to become the next billionaire.

Jessica Simpson has made quite an impression over the years.  Her music career was pretty good, and maybe she isn't the brightest bulb but apparently she is making some very good business decisions.  Right now she is on pace to become a very rich woman.  It's been a while since she has made any noise in the music biz and she has kind of put acting on the back burner for a bit.

Right now Simpson is getting set to launch her latest fashion line, and last year alone she made near $750 million on that.  She also has her own line of hair and beauty products plus a fragrance line that was debuted in 2008 which became so popular that they came out with two other fragrances in her line.  They attribute the success of her fashion and beauty line to the fact that it is very accessible to  the general public and just classy enough that most celebs (like horse face Sarah Jessica Parker) will also wear them.

Simpson had this to say the New York Magazine's Spring Fashion issue:

We try not to set trends, but you need your trending pieces in every delivery. But those go fast: What you really need is your basics for every type of person. When it comes to other celebrity brands, I think a lot of people do a great job, but it can't be all about them. Everybody doesn't want to just look like the celebrity, because they can't. They just want one element of that style.

I can't believe that quote came from the same girl who thought that Chicken of the Sea was actually chicken.  I have to hand it to her, a lot of celebs go out on these business ventures and fail where as she has made out so well.  If this radio thing doesn't work out I think I'll try and become business partners with her.
