It has been quite a year here at Q103. We had to say goodbye to some of our favorite DJ's, said hello to new ones, put on some great shows and played some of the best rock music out there. On-site we have published thousands of stories on our page- reviews, music news, national and local news. We have reported notable weather and tragedies and poked fun at the stupid things people do. I have contributed to this slew of entertainment and always have favorite blogs that I commit to memory. Here are my top five that I have written this past year. Enjoy!

Going back to this March 24 story makes my jaw drop. It received over 1,000 "Likes" and a handful of comments. It warms the cockles of my heart that something I wrote passionately about was read and shared among many with lots of positive attention. It's times like these that make what I love to do just that much more important and worthy. What an amazing fan-base Q103 and Shinedown have!

I did a bunch of interviews this year, the majority of which were conducted in May at Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio. It was an overwhelming dream come true for me and I had a blast talking to all of the bands. However, talking to my idol Maria Brink and her band In This Moment took the cake. It was my first time meeting Maria since becoming a fan and interviewing her via telephone in 2011, so needless to say I was more than starstruck. Not only is she from this area, but she doesn't forget it. She is proud, down-to-earth and humble and boy does she give a great interview. I'll never forget seeing her proud grandfather at Q-Ruption in the back of the crowd, camera in hand. Much love for this girl and this band.

We have all been waiting patiently for some sign of life from The Place Beyond The Pines- the film starring Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling that was filmed in our own backyard of Schenectady. Earlier this month the trailer finally hit the web and we got to see tidbits of our historic city represented in such a high profile movie. You'll have to wait until March 29 to actually see the entire thing but this is such an exciting glimpse. I don't think this will be the last film to be taped in this area either. Maybe I'll get an extra role eventually! A girl can dream can't she?

Back in August I got the amazing opportunity to go skydiving and raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I raised over $500 and got the thrill of a lifetime and was blessed with the chance to do something I have always wanted to. It was a little nerve-wracking but totally worth it. I recommend it to everyone and hope I get to do it again next year and raise a lot more money. This was definitely one of the top highlights for me this year.

This August 3 post was one of the happiest of the year. Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe was behind Prague bars for over a month this summer, facing bogus manslaughter charges after a fan died at a 2010 show following Blythe pushing him off the stage. It caused quite a stir among his band members, family, fans and music lovers in general. Monetary funds were set up in his honor and he had a huge backing of support, which he deserved. After many failed attempts and over $400,000 he finally got word that he was free to go. Although this story isn't over and Randy is forced to go back to Prague for court,  this story won't go unforgotten and will hopefully have a happy ending.
